How It All Works

When summertime comes, everyone is thankful for air conditioning. We rely heavily on that cool air. Air conditioners work on the same principle as your home refrigerator. Your air conditioner cools your home with a cold indoor coil. This is called the evaporator. The hot outdoor coil is the condenser. This releases the collected heat outside. A pump, called the compressor, moves a type of fluid called the refrigerant between the evaporator and the condenser. The refrigerant evaporates in the indoor evaporator coil as it pulls heat out of the indoor air. The hot refrigerant is pumped outdoors into the condenser where it changes back to a liquid. It then gives up heat to the air flowing over the metal tubing and fins.

Many Choices

These days, there are many different types of home air conditioning choices. It is a fact that if you cannot afford central air there is a type of mobile air conditioning unit that works well for cooling down two or three rooms. For short term use, one can even consider air conditioning hire which is quite simply renting any size of unit. If you already enjoy the benefits of central air conditioning, it is important to learn how to property maintain the unit for longer life.
